We are currently seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager. The position is located in Atlanta, GA and reports to the Director of Shared Services.
Sr. Accounting Manager
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will act as the central point of contact for assigned field locations including all month-end accounting activities. They will lead the month-end close and sup-port operations personnel for financial close, operational and financial reporting for assigned field locations. Located in Atlanta, Ga., he or she will partner with stakeholders across the company including field finance leaders, DSS Corporate Accounting and DSS Finance Sys-tems teams. They will establish business procedures and standards around the Company's monthly accounting cycle and the financial close. This role will drive opportunities to streamline our monthly accounting processes and standards by assisting with the imple-mentation of a shared services approach for processes utilizing the leading practice and SAP S/4 HANA Cloud based application.
The ideal candidate should have proven change management skills, strong people and cus-tomer service skills, a track record of process improvement, exceptional accounting experi-ence, and excellent teamwork skills along with an ability to work in an ever-changing envi-ronment.
Areas of Responsibility: Execute and support the workflow for all assigned accounting processes that streamlines and improves the financial close:
· Oversee the accounting for all locations in DS Smith North America
· Lead migration of remaining accounting responsibilities into Share Service Center
· Serve as accounting lead on conversion of legacy systems to SAP
· Process journal entries in SAP and legacy systems
· Maintain DS Smith North America Balance Sheet
· Manage general ledger account reconciliations with sufficient documentation
· Maintain all inter-company and intra-company accounts and ensure proper reconciliation
· Prepare all operational, corporate and ad-hoc reporting including analysis requests, schedules and quarterly, annual workpapers.
· Ensure all cash journal entries are prepared and bank statements are reconciled to G/L ac-count balances
· Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS
· Implement and maintain adequate internal controls
· Prepare year-end reporting packages, year-end schedules for NAPP Corporate Finance and Group, and local operations reporting needs.
· Complete monthly roll-forward reporting for NAPP /Group
· Cultivate strong working relationships with Finance and field personnel
· Lead a team of 8-12 accountants
· Develop talent, manage performance and morale/engagement of the team
· Other projects and assignments as necessary
Education & Certifications
A four-year bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required

· Position is in Midtown Atlanta
· Position requires 50% travel in first year and will settle in at 20% travel annually
