Position is responsible for the program management of the Human Resources compensation function and providing analytics to various business partners such as Benefits, and Accounting and Finance departments. The position plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures, provides financial or business related analysis and research that aligns with the company's goals, strategies, immediate and long-term financial solutions and competitive practices. Position is also responsible for ensuring that compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
Job Duties:
- · Program Management: Manages the compensation function which includes program design, implementation, communication and administration. Serves as compensation program manager and internal consultant. Is the subject matter expert in all areas of compensation including equity programs, compensation philosophy, positioning internally and externally to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity, incentive programs, executive compensation, as well as governance and compliance. Completes and analyzes compensation surveys and other surveys as requested, providing recommendations based on results. Evaluates market competitiveness and effectiveness based on external benchmarks and key performance indicators and provides recommendations. Completes job evaluations and develops compensation recommendations for attracting and retaining talent. Provides advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations and job evaluations. Plans, monitors, and manages internal projects from initiation through completion. Works with corporate staff in the preparation of Compensation Committee and Board Materials. Designs PowerPoint presentations for internal presentation. Develops and maintains relationships with external vendors to ensure exceptional service is provided. Manages vendor contracts based on company and legal requirements. Partners with Human Resources Information Systems on compensation related projects.
- · Data Analysis and Planning: Partners with Benefits and other departments such as Accounting and Finance or other requesting departments to provide data analytics mainly needed for financial planning and budgeting based on key business drivers. Prepares analysis and reporting on executive retirement plans. Completes benefits surveys, analyze results, and provides recommendations that assist with strategic planning for employee benefits programs. Completes financial forecasting and builds financial models. Performs research and analysis as required.
- · Compliance: Ensures compliance with company policies and relevant legal regulations. Participates in internal and external compliance audits. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred. Finance or related degree acceptable.
Experience: 8 or more years of experience in compensation Strong knowledge of benefits programs preferred; understanding and experience in ASO contracts, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans; strong proficiency in financial analysis; experience in crafting compensation and benefits strategies, knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation and benefits.
Equivalent Experience: 11+ years of professional experience as outlined above.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Certified Compensation Professional; or Senior SHRM Certified Profession.
Specialized Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data. Excellent written, verbal presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities; proficient in Lawson Human Resources applications; proficient in accounting/budgeting software; exceptional ability in Microsoft products: advanced Excel skills required; strong leadership, relationship management and team management skills.
