Join us on August 8 for a panel discussion with our sponsors and moderated by the AACA Program Committee. Timely topics, current trend information and survey results will be discussed with the panelists and the meeting participants.

Themes we will address include:

  • 2024 budget merit forecast and what trends/items of interest you are observing in your survey results?
  • The challenges of wage compression; how to address this issue and what remedies have your clients experienced?
  • Has the approach towards geographic pay differentials changed since 2020?  What adaptations are you seeing or recommending?

Our Panelists

John Shepard, CCP
Culpepper - Compensation Consultant and Strategic Accounts

John has over 16 years of experience advising Culpepper clients on market pricing and benchmarking. As a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), John has assisted Culpepper clients in determining how to utilize compensation survey data to make sound decisions for their organization.

John holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Managerial Sciences with a focus in Human Resources from Georgia State University.


Teela Jackson
Talent Connections - VP, HR Search

Teela Jackson is Vice President, HR Search with Talent Connections. She leads the HR Search Practice and is known as the HR Talent Connector.  She has been with the firm since 2005. 

Teela has a passion for people, talent and organizational culture. She has a reputation as a trusted partner and leader to support organizational HR and business transformations.  Teela effectively partners with senior leadership teams to evaluate and identify key HR talent needs in alignment with company goals and initiatives. With many repeat clients, she has a passion for top talent including established leaders, rising leaders and hybrid or hard to find talent.  Prior to joining Talent Connections, Teela was in corporate talent acquisition with Georgia-Pacific, Turner Broadcasting and CIGNA.

Teela earned an MBA from Mercer University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Human Resources (full academic scholarship) from The University of Tennessee - Martin. Teela has called Atlanta home since 2000, she is originally from Nashville, TN


Steve Guyer
Mercer, Partner, Rewards Practice

Steve is a Partner in Mercer's Career business based in Atlanta, Georgia. He partners with organization leaders to engage employees through the successful research and delivery of total rewards and career framework outcomes, aligned with the organization's business and talent strategies and facilitating diversity, equity and inclusion. Recent projects include strategic pay and total reward program design, job architecture, competitive market assessment, job evaluation and global leveling, pay structure development and program governance.

Steve received a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from Yale University. He is a member of WorldatWork and served as President f the Atlanta Area Compensation Association. Steve is a frequent speaker at local, national and global industry association events.


Nat Estes
Avison Young Consulting Services, Principal

Nat Estes is a principal with the Avison Young Consulting Services group. He works with Operations, HR and Strategy Executives to develop, evaluate, and implement location, labor, and incentives solutions through statistical analyses and market research. Nat believes, along with his clients, in a data-driven, yet “real-world” approach to the decision-making process.

Nat’s background in location strategy and labor market analytics helps clients optimize on two important factors as they consider the future of their business: Finding the highest value location and talent to drive growth and minimizing operational costs and risks.
